The Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), headed by Mr. Orlando B. Tizon through its Investment Division, has forged a strong partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Oriental Mindoro, under the leadership of Provincial Director Frederick C. Gumabol, CESO V, to advance local economic development and investment promotion in the province.
The collaboration goes beyond the conduct of two upcoming capacity-building trainings for Local Economic and Development Investment Promotion Officers (LEDIPOs):
October 29, 2025 – “Empowering LEDIPOs through Enterprise Development: Building an Investment Framework Development Planâ€
October 30, 2025 – “Investment Promotion and Facilitation for LEDIPOsâ€
This partnership represents a sustained effort to enhance the capacity of LGUs in crafting investment frameworks, advancing enterprise development, and improving strategies for investment promotion and facilitation.
In line with the mandate of the DILG, local government units are enjoined to designate LEDIPOs in their respective areas — ensuring every LGU has a focal person or office dedicated to enterprise development and investment promotion.
With the combined efforts of PCDO and DILG, Oriental Mindoro’s local governments are expected to become more proactive in fostering a sustainable, dynamic, and inclusive economic environment that will attract investors and create more livelihood opportunities for communities.
PCDO Head Orlando B. Tizon emphasized the importance of this collaboration, saying:
“Our partnership with DILG Oriental Mindoro is not only about conducting trainings, but about laying down the foundation for stronger and more responsive local economic governance. By empowering LEDIPOs and strengthening LGUs, we are building the pillars of a competitive and inclusive Oriental Mindoro that is ready to welcome investments and generate growth for our people.â€
