 The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) joins the celebration of World Bamboo Day through tree-planting on 18 September.
Led by the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), headed by PG-ENRO OIC EnP. Lily May Lim, bamboo trees and other native trees were planted on this activity in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bulalacao.
EnP. Lim stated that PGOM promotes more environmental programs through their office to further strengthen the bamboo industry in the province.
LGU Bulalacao expressed their gratitude through Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Mafel Myda Gonzales for being selected as the venue for the tree-planting activity.
Participants of the said activity also included representatives from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Provincial Gender and Development Focal Point System-Technical Working Group of the Capitol, staff from Bulalacao Community Hospital, PGOM staff, and barangay residents.
Meanwhile, this activity is still in line with the participation of the province of Oriental Mindoro in the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration this September.
