In line with the implementation of Para-Teachers and Government Internship Program (GIP) in Oriental Mindoro, the Technical Working Group (TWG) of Zero Illiteracy and Innumeracy Program (ZIIP) continues their active engagement with Local Government Units (LGUs) in the province to endorse the Para-teachers and GIP interns.

On 17 September, ZIIP TWG visited the municipality of Gloria and formally endorsed five GIP interns to Gloria Municipal Mayor Teresita M. Ong and Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Francis Lalo.

Following this, they went to the Municipality of Pinamalayan to personally engage with the Local Government.

This initiative aims to foster a stronger collaboration between the Provincial Government and each municipality where ZIIP is implemented, by leading together the on-site monitoring and evaluation for the Para-teachers and students to ensure the effectiveness of the program.

ZIIP TWG has already completed the endorsement to municipalities in the First District, and their visit to the Second District is scheduled to conclude on 18 September.

As one of the priority programs of Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor, it is expected that the enhancement of  indigenous people’s  intellectual capacity will be further strengthened  through this collaborative effort. (With photos from Nikki Rose Hernandez)
