Three Hundred (300) of pet dogs and cats underwent spaying and castration procedures in one of the series of such activities led by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro and Provincial Veterinary Office.
Said activity was conducted in partnership with Calapan City Veterinary Office, Marinduque Veterinary Office, Palawan Veterinary Office along with several private clinic volunteers.
According to Dr. Alfredo Manglicmot, OIC – ProVet, this initiative greatly benefits pets as it aims to help control the population, while also promoting responsible pet ownership.
Pet owner Denise Pascual of Barangay Canubing said, “We need to have our pets undergo spaying and castration. First, they themselves will benefit by staying healthy, and it is also for our benefit as pet owners. I encourage everyone to recognize that it is our responsibility to properly care for our pets.â€
Meanwhile, this program is considered an important step towards creating a much safer and more orderly community, while promoting the welfare and responsible pet ownership in the Province of Oriental Mindoro.
