It was affirmed during the public consultation that the Provincial Government is actively pursuing the construction of the Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) Project in five barangays located at Socorro and Victoria under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).
Provincial Administrator Atty. Earl R. Turano led the consultation on behalf of Gov. Humerlito “Bonz†Dolor, demonstrating the commitment of PGOM to implement the project Concreting of Brgy. Merit-Ma. Concepcion – Victoria to Brgy. Ma. Conception-Brgy. Happy Valley-Brgy. Bugtong-na-Tuog FMR with Bridge as promised by the Governor to the residents of the said barangays, benefiting a total of 8,552 residents.
People from these areas have long been experiencing difficulties in transportation that impedes the efficient transport of their products to the market due to uneven roads.
Along with this, the complete destruction of the bridge that connects Brgy. Bugtong na Tuog to nearby barangays in 2015 due to Typhoon Nona caused even more difficulties in the system of transportation.
This situation has driven Gov. Dolor to persistently work on pushing for the implementation of this initiative designed to ease the burden faced by the residents, and to enhance the province’s economy, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The project consists of 10.7 kilometers long and has a 40-meter Reinforced Concrete Deck Girder (RCDG) Bridge, will provide a faster and safer travel for the residents.
Before the program, Atty. Turano called for a meeting with the officials of five barangays to explain the details of the project and encourage collaboration for its success.
Representatives from various offices of the Provincial Government also attended the consultation, including the Provincial Engineering’s Office (PEO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAgO), Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAssO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PG-EnRO), to explain the benefits of the project.
